Show with a double gold and three gold Veritas
medals. |

SOUTH
AFRICA, WESTERN CAPE, 11 OCTOBER 2011 -Cape
Legends, which undertakes the marketing
of a number of leading estates and wineries,
came away from the SA National Wine Show
with a double gold and three gold Veritas
medals. Competing in the museum class, the
2001 Carlonet, one of the classic red wine
labels of the Cape, was awarded a double
gold medal. The wine, which for the 2001vintage
was made exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon
grapes, was produced in the original style
of the label, which dates back to 1957.
Estelle Lourens, Uitkyk’s winemaker,
describes it as full-bodied, with earthy,
savoury tones.
Of the three gold medals, one was awarded
to the 2011 Neethlingshof Sauvignon Blanc,
one to the 2008 Stellenzicht Golden Triangle
Shiraz and one to Uitkyk’s Estate
Brandy Grand Reserve 10 year-old. |
