Association for Responsible Alcohol Use (ARA)
Established by the major producers of alcoholic beverages in South Africa, the purpose of ARA is to decrease alcohol-related harm by fighting the misuse and abuse of alcohol and promoting only responsible use. ARA fulfils its mandate through participation with public health community, supporting programmes to educate adults and children, and ensuring responsible marketing and promotional activities.

Black Association of the Wine and Spirit Industry (BAWSI)

Biodiversity & Wine Initiative (BWI)
BWI is a partnership between the South African wine industry and the conservation sector. It aims to minimise the loss of threatened natural habitat, to contribute to sustainable wine production, promote changes in farming practices that improve the suitability of vineyards, and decrease farming practices that have negative impacts on biodiversity.

South African Wine Industry Council
The South African Wine Industry Council represents the wine industry. It aims to ensure the wine industry is globally competitive and to enhance the strategic environment. An important action of the SA Wine Industry Council is to implement the Wine Industry Plan (WIP), an agreement between the wine industry and government, which pursues the competitiveness and profitability of the industry, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE), sustainable use of natural resources, and social responsibility.
